I’m Kath—formally Katherine Walden—and I’m delighted you’ve stopped by.
Whether you’ve found me through one of my books, a social media post, a YouTube video, or simply through a Google search, I hope you’ll find something here that encourages your faith, deepens your walk with Jesus, and reminds you that God is far more involved in your life than you may have realized.
I’ve been in Christian ministry since 1981, when I joined Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Looking back over more than four decades, I can see a thread that has woven its way through every season of my life. God has often led me into new places—not because I was chasing the latest trend or trying to reinvent myself, but because I’ve learned that following Him sometimes means being willing to leave familiar methods behind while holding firmly to an unchanging message.
That willingness to follow where I believe God is leading has shaped much of my ministry.
In the early 1990s, as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease gradually changed what I was physically able to do, I found myself facing a crossroads. Rather than seeing it as the end of ministry, I began exploring what was then a very new idea—using the Internet to encourage and disciple Christians. At the time, very few people viewed the Internet as a place where meaningful ministry could happen. I certainly couldn’t have imagined what online ministry would eventually become. I simply wanted to remain faithful to the calling I received from God.
Looking back now, I can see that God was preparing me for seasons I could never have imagined.
Over the years, the tools have continued to change. Websites replaced newsletters. Blogs emerged. Social media transformed the way we communicate. Short-form videos have opened conversations with people around the world. Now, after many wonderful years, this website is gradually transitioning to Substack.
To me, this isn’t leaving something behind. It’s simply another step in the same journey that began in 1981.
I’m not committed to a particular platform. I’m committed to following where I believe God is leading.
That’s why this website is changing. My ministry was never built around a website, a blog, or a social media platform. It has always been built around a calling.
My methods have changed many times over the years, but my message has remained the same.
I believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word and the foundation for our faith. I write from a continuationist perspective, believing that the gifts of the Holy Spirit—including prophecy and healing—remain active today. My desire is always to see those gifts exercised in ways that honour Scripture, exalt Jesus Christ, and strengthen His Church.
While God has called me to serve in prophetic ministry, my heart has never been to create dependence on prophetic voices. My passion is to help everyday believers recognize God’s voice for themselves, grow in biblical discernment, and walk confidently in the unique path He has prepared for them.
Over the years I’ve had the privilege of writing three Christian books under my full name, Katherine Walden, as well as teaching, mentoring, facilitating prophetic ministry, and encouraging believers from many nations through both in-person and online ministry. Those opportunities have been a tremendous privilege, but they aren’t what define me. What continues to bring me the greatest joy is watching ordinary Christians discover that God is nearer than they imagined, that He is speaking, and that life with Him is an ongoing adventure.
Living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease has certainly changed the way I minister, but it has never changed the One I serve. His faithfulness has remained constant through every season, and His grace has proven sufficient time and time again.
