When Your Kitchen Appliances Turn Against You

A messy kitchen counter with an old food processor, immersion blender, and a dirty pair of glasses.

Sometimes you laugh, sometimes you cry. This month I mostly laughed… and wiped coffee off the walls.

In the last month, I lost my glasses. Pretty sure they hitchhiked their way into the garbage. I hope they’re happy in their new life at the dump. I replaced them quickly, but my wallet is still giving me dirty looks.

The Food Processor’s Last Stand

Then came round two. I dragged out my ancient food processor. The thing took one look at me, whimpered, and gave up the ghost. Can’t say I’ll mourn it. That lid was less “kitchen tool” and more “IQ test.” Honestly, if I ever managed to snap it into place, I half expected confetti and a marching band. But then I’d have to clean up after the band, and we all know how impossible confetti is.

Enter the Blender (and the Coffee Splash)

Which brings me to round three. Once my ancient immersion blender heard about the food processor’s demise, it decided to join the party and take its own final trek to the landfill. Unlike the food processor, I actually used this one daily. So I replaced it. The new one is a beast. First time I fired it up, my backsplash got a modern-art coffee makeover. Sotheby’s hasn’t called yet, but I’m waiting.

Choosing Joy Over Grumbling

So yes, I could grumble. Or I can roll my eyes, laugh at the chaos, and still say with joy: “Yet I will praise the Lord.”

Until next time,
