Finding Peace Through Restoration

True peace comes when we choose restoration, even when it feels costly.

Paul’s Appeal to the Corinthians

“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.” — 2 Corinthians 13:11

Paul wrote these words to the church in Corinth during a time of conflict. He urged them to deal with their issues before he arrived. His heart was not to come with heavy correction, but to share fellowship and joy. He longed for them to experience peace through restoration.

Choosing Peace in Hard Places

Peace is simple when we live alone or keep distance from those who challenge us. But real life brings us close to people. Just like the Corinthians, we cannot avoid one another. To live in unity,  choose peace through restoration, even when it feels hard.

Paul added in verse 12: “Greet one another with a holy kiss.” In other words, it was time to mend relationships, forgive, and move forward together.

Taking the First Step

True peace rarely comes by waiting for someone else to make the first move. Often we must swallow pride and reach out first. This is where peace through restoration begins. It may not feel fair, but it is the way to freedom. Restoration comes when we extend comfort, seek common ground, and choose love over distance.

Paul’s words still carry strength today. Aim for restoration. Live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
