He’s got you, and you have all you need.
(Romans 8:28–32 NASB)
Romans 8:32 says,
“He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?”
This chapter, Romans 8, is one of my absolute favourites. Starting at verse 28, Paul takes us on a wild ride through God’s goodness, purpose, and promises. I’m tempted to memorize this whole section again. I learned it once years ago when I was a brand-new believer, and I think it’s time for a refresher. These verses are packed full of truth I still need today.
Let’s take a moment and let the Word speak for itself. Just breathe and receive as you read.
Romans 8:28–32 NASB
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son,
so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified;
and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all,
how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?”
That line gets me every time. “Freely give us all things.”
If you’re feeling unqualified, unsure, or like you don’t measure up—you’re not alone. But you are not disqualified. These verses speak straight to that feeling of self-doubt.
We are predestined. That means before time began, God saw us. He had a plan. He didn’t scramble or guess. He knew we were coming and welcomed us in.
We are conformed into the image of Jesus. That’s a huge part of our journey. He works with us, not against us, and gently shapes us to look like Jesus.
Paul calls Jesus “the firstborn among many brethren.” That includes us. We are part of the family. Not just tolerated, not just barely included, but sincerely wanted.
Then Paul lines it all up:
“Those He predestined, He called. Those He called, He justified. Those He justified, He glorified.”
All past tense. All settled. And yes, that glorified part still stuns me. Right now, as believers, we carry that glory.
We don’t have to wait until heaven.
That truth rocks my boat every single time. And then comes the famous line:
“If God is for us, who is against us?”
Honestly, what more do we need?
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all,
how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?”
Jesus didn’t just die to forgive sin. He died to restore what was stolen.
He gave everything so we could walk in full redemption on Earth. We don’t have to wait for heaven. That means healing, today. That means a purpose for our future. That means the authority to crush the enemy under our feet.
So yes, when Paul says “all things,” he means it.
If you’re facing self-doubt today, let this truth steady your heart: God already gave you what you need.
Until next time,
